Dr. Lyn Brown Oxley
OPTOMETRIST
Dr. Lyn Brown Oxley, O.D., is a 1974 graduate of Vidalia High School. She received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Georgia in 1978, and a Doctor of Optometry from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee in 1984. She and her father, Dr. Lamar A. Brown, formed Optometry Associates, P.C. in 1984.
 
Dr. Oxley is a member of the Georgia Optometric Association and past president of the Southeast regional division. She is an member of the First United Methodist Church, supporting member of the Boy Scouts of America, and a volunteer mentor in the local school. She is married to Matthew W. Oxley, III and has two sons, Walker and Mark.
Dr. David Kim
OPHTHALMOLOGIST
Dr. David D. Kim, Ph.D., M.D., graduated from University of Tennessee with highest honors and was awarded Summa Cum Laude. After earning his doctorate degree from Washington University School of Medicine, he completed his residency in Ophthalomology at the University of Florida in Gainesville. He completed his glaucoma fellowship at the world-renowned Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia. Dr. Kim is board certified and specialized in medical, laser, and surgical treatment of glaucoma.
 
Dr. Kim and his wife, Dr. Karen Kim have five children and reside in Savannah, Georgia. Dr. Kim is the visiting Opthalmologist providing medical eye services to the patients of OA.
OPTOMETRIC ASSISTANT
Melanie Ray grew up in the Atlanta area and moved to the Vidalia area in 1989. She joined the staff of Optometry Associations, P.C. in 1999. Melanie is primarily responsible for collecting patient medical information and performing preliminary tests before the eye exam.
 
After years of adjusting to the 'culture shock' of her move from Atlanta to rural life in Vidalia, Melanie now enjoys living in South Georgia. Away from work, she cherishes spending quality time with her husband, Chris and their two young daughters. They are active members of Grace United Methodist Church in Vidalia.
Jan Powell
OFFICE MANAGER
Jan Powell is a native of Lyons, Georgia.  After graduating from Lyons High School, Jan attended Georgia Southern University in Statesboro and Georgia Southwestern University in Americus.
 
Jan has two married daughters and a new grandson who, luckily for his grandparents, lives with his parents in Vidalia. Jan enjoys a round of golf when she is not grandparenting.
Brandy Brown
LAB TECHNICIAN
Brandy Brown has lived in Vidalia all of her life, graduating from Vidalia High School. She received training as an Emergency Medical Technician at Southeastern Technical College in Vidalia. She joined Optometry Associates in 2002, learning on the job how to make, repair, and fit glasses. Brandy consults with patients needing new glasses and frames, and she keeps the inventory of frames up-to-date so that patients can select from the latest styles and fashions.
 
Brandy is married to Derrick Brown and has two young children, a boy and a girl. She enjoys baseball in her free time.
